Jacob Willemszoon de Wet was a student of Rembrandt and he had himself a larger circle of pupils. He obviously received the idea of the octave in his training and, as his image of „wor-ship“ shows, he also understood it as an inner way of realization. What, then, is this fundamental cosmic structure where the audible musical octave that we know originates? If we can see that the musical octave is a manifestation of such a fundamental structure, the question arises: Does this underlying structure also give rise to other forms of manifestation? Is it related to processes such as our own lives unfolding in time?

If the musical octave is the expression of a fundamental cosmic principle, then this formative universal structure is worth of becoming the subject of our inquiry.

Astrologers need to wake up to the cosmological roots of astrology. Astrology does not need the support of other philosophical, religious or spiritual systems. Astrology as cosmology connects the findings of the natural sciences with the core of the great spiritual traditions.

The existential significance of the four elements is lost through our orientation in physical, chem-ical, psychological and theological concepts. The basic structure of the four elements, of which the human being is built up, forms in every spiritual system the base and it is symbolised by the different manifestations of fourness and dressed in their own expressions.

Plato says in his work "Timaeus": "Creation happens between Fire and Earth. Since the uni-verse is three-dimensional, it takes two elements in between." This statement is essential. This means in practise for our everyday experience that we need to connect the impulses, Fire, with the element Earth, if we want something to happen.

Again, and again with my Mars-Saturn Square I experience the limitations that come with it. I cannot do what I would like to do, want to do, or what I think I should do. All my life I was cut back, like a rose bush, by the hand of a good gardener, who has no pity with the rose bush. I then learned to go with these energies and I can now sense the active forces working.

It is not so that this kind of Astrology can be learned in a weekend seminar, or even in a three-year course in Astrology, like you had. The background, what the energies are and how they work need to be studied. The cosmology and the working of the planets must be known. We cannot begin with looking at your chart and seeing where Mars and Uranus are and that there-fore you are in the state of being you are in right now. We can only misuse this type of approach as an excuse for not understanding Astrology.

Only a cosmology, which acknowledges the Unity of all Being, which is compatible with the structures and processes of outer cosmos, rooted in the basic structures of mathematics and geometry and at the same time describes the inner world of man, deserves to be called Cosmology.

When it is true, that man entails the whole cosmos, then the cosmos itself can describe best what man is about.

It is not enough to “think globally - act locally”. “Global thinking” is a network of the New Era in which we can easily get caught. It is necessary to bring about radical change that is beyond the global. What is necessary for human survival: See Cosmic – Take responsibility individually.

That could be the New Earth slogan.

When in the universe the time to die in the life of a sun has arrived, its radiation diminishes and at the same time it starts to expand. Its outer cover becomes thinner and thinner, losing sub-stance, and eventually it is discarded. What remains is a hot kernel rich in energy; this is called a white dwarf.

What we are really looking for is the “hot white dwarf”, the experienced essence, which is available for everybody, the source, which exists beyond the changing forms. We are searching for our own identity, which is left after the earthly outer cover has gone.
